Things I'm Not Good At

I use a note-taking program called Obsidian, in it you can tag each note you make, then use a mini program called DataView to make a list of all the notes you have that contain that tag.

As I did a data view of all the products I have currently on sale, or at least all the ones I have written descriptions for in the last couple of months, I realized just how much work I have put in. I have done A LOT in the last two months. But it’s all been pretty invisible to the outside world. I put 36 items up on my Etsy Store, and 11 new patterns on my Fabric and Wallpaper Store.

I've been taking a course on Coursera about marketing and e-commerce. And having that in the back of my mind and seeing this list, really made me realize that I haven't been marketing my work at all. I'm not active on social media, I haven't kept up my blog, so, very few people know of my work and the stuff I have available.

I have a hard time doing these things because I'm not very social and I'm afraid of coming across spammy when I market my work.

The business and marketing side of things does not come naturally to me. It’s something I have to learn. So I'm going to continue to take the online course. And if you happen to read this, well I guess I hope it motivates you to go learn something you're not good at.

And, of course, if you're interested, check out my store, I sell art and artful products.
