I went outside! With people!!
Restrictions here in Toronto have been slowly lifting, and because of that one of my favourite activities has started up again. Life drawing!
I went to a life drawing session hosted by AGA Arts Toronto. In the past, the sessions were held in a little clubhouse in the park but this time they were hosted outside. And this was actually really nice! The weather was beautiful as were the surroundings and I honestly enjoyed being outside surrounded by trees a lot more than being indoors.
The model Carly Lundy did a great job. She wore a bathing suit to keep it modest because we were outside and did some beautiful posing in a fairly crowded park! I was impressed that she could maintain her cool while being on display to so many people.
My drawings skills were definitely a little rusty, with many false starts and a few drawings that just didn’t turn out at all, but for not having done any drawing from life for about a year and a half I thought I did ok. Below you can see some of the sketches as well as a timelapse video of the entire process, from gestures to longer poses.
It was really nice to run into familiar faces and I look forward to the next one!
