The past two months have been tough ones for me personally, I almost moved apartments. Left one job and started another, and failed my G test (the 3rd of 3 tests on Ontario’s graduated driver’s license system). It felt like nothing was going right.

It can be hard to start the painting process in this mindset. It feels like that creative flow couldn’t possibly happen.

But this is just an illusion. The hard part is getting out the brushes and paints, setting up the workstation and squeezing out those first blobs of color.

But once the work starts, it’s like hanging out with an old friend. Like no time has passed at all. And the flow happens.

The hard part is showing up.
